EU LIVE: Macron calls for MORE EUROPE in plenary PLEA – Farage vows to hit back

The French president will address leaders at a plenary session in Strasbourg this morning, where he is expected to set out his vision for the future of Europe

‘s 20-minute address will be followed by statements from MEPs – including Nigel Farage, who has vowed to ruin the president’s lunch.

Mr Macron will be met by Antonio Tajani, president of the European Parliament, at around 8.15am BST. He will give his address a short time later.

Nigel Farage has vowed to “ruin Macron’s lunch” today when he issues a scathing response to the French president’s speech. 

Hinting at what he plans to say, the former Ukip leader blasted: “When you’re in an EU centralist hole, stop digging.

“Macron obviously doesn’t yet understand that the future of Europe will be eurosceptic.”
