'People will be mad!' Farage warns of 'CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS' if MPs try to thwart Brexit

The Brexiteer warned chances of an ant- revolt triggering a constitutional crisis are growing “higher” as time goes by.

Mr Farage said: “The real crunch point is ultimately going to be the meaningful vote in the House of Commons of whatever deal we get and that’s the point at which it’s not impossible to see this country plummet into a constitutional crisis.

“I think the chances of that being the case get higher with every week that goes by. If the deal was rejected on a confidence motion, then you are looking at general elections or you are looking at another referendum.”

Earlier this week Tory rebel Anna Soubry threatened a Commons revolt against the departure deal expected to be agreed by Prime Minister .

Mr Farage said the Government should not underestimate threats but work hard to deliver a complete break from the .

Speaking to Channel 4 News, the staunch pro-Brexit politician said: “We shouldn’t underestimate there is a big establishment attempt out there to stop Brexit from happening.

“If the establishment does stop Brexit from happening then I think all sorts of extraordinary things could happen.

“I think you will find there will be a very large number of people in this country who will be angrier than you’ve ever seen. Certainly in modern British political history.”

In a BBC Newsnight interview last week, Ms Soubry urged Mrs May to “sling out” the Conservative’s hard Brexit ringleaders.

She said: “I’m really cheesed off about the way the whole Brexit thing is going.

“It feels like, and I think there’s evidence to support this, Theresa is in hock to these 35 hard Brexiteers. They don’t represent my party, but more importantly, they don’t represent people who voted Leave.

“If it comes to it, I am not going to stay in a party which has been taken over by the likes of Jacob Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson. They are not proper Conservatives.”
