In a series of unsettling events on Monday morning, 3 People Stabbed at different locations across Oxford. Oxford Police Chief Pat Ford confirmed that the stabbings took place at the Walmart Supercenter on Lewis Street, the McDonald’s at the intersection of MLK Jr Avenue and East Industry Drive, and along Belle Street.
Around 10:30 a.m., Chopper 11 flew over each scene to provide an aerial view. At the McDonald’s, the restaurant was closed, and a police cruiser was stationed outside. Additionally, what seemed to be water had been sprayed around the side entrance. The other locations had been cleared by authorities.
The current condition of the three stabbing victims has not been disclosed, but they were all promptly taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Following the incidents, investigators received a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which led them to locate it on Interstate 85 South. A pursuit ensued, and law enforcement successfully apprehended the suspect. The individual has been transported to the Granville County Detention Center, where they will await charges. At this time, the suspect’s name has not been released to the public.
As for the motive behind these attacks, it is still early in the investigation.
